| The Portland Metro STEM Partnership (PMSP) is one of seven STEM Hubs in Oregon. Since 2012 The Private Eye has been a collaborating partner. |
| In this unique collaboration The Private Eye offers its exemplary STEM course to teachers at the PMSP Teachers Summer Academy through Portland State University. 128 teachers K-8 have attended the graduate level, 3-credit course, and 41 teachers have attended the graduate level, 1-credit follow-up course. | In 2015 Vernier Software and Technology, a major supporter of the Portland Metro STEM Parnership, offered its campus classroom to host the course. It was such a positive space the teachers created their own Private Eye inspired "thank you" notes in appreciation. |

Course experience...
Teachers dive into the hands-on, interdsiciplinary Private Eye process for inquiry and investigation. Science, writing, art, math, and social studies come to life as students (and teachers) build the most important habits of mind to accelerate learning: looking closely, thinking by analogy, changing scale and theorizing/making inferences. The Private Eye makes it easy and natural for students to apply conceptual knowledge across subjects. |
